Our Native Village
is a 100% eco resort that aims to reconnect people with simple, earthy
yet joyful experiences that are far away memories now… reconnect to
nature, to loved ones, to themselves… And to do all those things you
always said you never had the time to. As a 100% eco, we generate 70
to 80% of our electricity ourselves using a wind mill, solar panels and
2 bio gas plants. Most of our water is rain water, all our construction
is eco construction, using bricks that were made onsite using the soil
from the foundation excavation and then sun baked. We process and reuse
all our waste in the most innovative methods. Most of the vegetables in
the kitchen are from the 12 acre organic farm that the resort is on. We
do not use any chemicals whatsoever at the resort.. Even the soaps and
shampoos in the rooms are natural, organic and handmade exclusively for
our resort. And last but not the least, we have the regions first 100%
natural swimming pool, where we use aquatic plants to clean the
swimming pool rather than chemicals. From an experiential perspective,
we are reviving games, rituals, and practices from the Indian village.
We are reviving interest in 6 forms of Indian art, and in Veerakallus
(Hero stones). Most of our staff are from the surrounding villages. In
line with our inclusive policy, our resort is handicap friendly and
most entertainment in the evenings are performed by blind artists. To
take personal sustainability to the extreme, we have a Soul Spa – the
first one in the world, where we achieve rejuvenation and deep
cleansing at a soul level, rather than only at a skin level |

The World Ocean Council is an international, cross-sectoral industry
leadership alliance for “Corporate Ocean Responsibility”. Our vision
is a healthy and productive global ocean and its sustainable use,
development and stewardship by a responsible ocean business community.
To catalyze industry leadership and collaboration in ocean
sustainability, we bring tourism together with other ocean industries
(such as oil and gas, shipping, fisheries, aquaculture, mining, and
more) to create an ocean business community that is well-informed on
ocean policy processes and constructively engaged with other ocean
stakeholders. We facilitate industry collaboration in developing
practical, cost-effective, science-based solutions to cross-sectoral
environmental issues, such as ocean noise, and we work to advance the
environmental performance of ocean industries through continuous
improvement, best practices and standards - for example, regarding ship
strikes on whales. The WOC develops ocean industry leadership
alliances in priority geographic areas, such as the Caribbean and the
Arctic, and fosters improved cross-sectoral dialogue and understanding
among ocean industry sectors to reduce user conflicts. We work to
improve understanding among the public, media and NGOs of the positive
